- Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical consequences of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia across different patient populations.
- Identify patients at increased risk of iron deficiency anemia and apply evidence-based screening strategies for early detection in clinical practice.
- Interpret laboratory findings and diagnostic indicators used to differentiate iron deficiency, iron deficiency anemia, and alternative causes of anemia.
- Apply current international and regional clinical guidelines to select appropriate pharmacological and nutritional management strategies for patients with iron deficiency anemia.
